GIS in the NRD
Base Coverages
The LPNNRD continually adds to and improves its database of GIS coverages as they become available from state agencies and other sources. Geo-referenced aerial photos, topographic data, soil data, and elevation models are some of the key base coverages.

The Lower Platte North NRD has also developed numerous GIS coverages of its own, including:

- Abandoned wells
- Land treatment areas
- Detailed roads coverage
- Mosaic Digital Raster Graphics (DRGs)
- Watershed structure boundaries; dams
- Soil loss grids
These coverages are used extensively in water and land treatment programs.
